The 2nd Annual Youth Festival

Students from four New Haven schools came together to perform on a professional stage, supported by professional production elements, in a celebration of creativity, community, and shared humanity.

In a world that often emphasizes competition, the Festival offered a unique chance to foster mutual respect and connection among students from different schools and communities. Participants learned more about one another as individuals, moving beyond stereotypes and celebrating the courage and collaboration needed to bring a play to life.

Students first performed at their schools, then came together for a weekend festival open to the entire community.

Elm Shakespeare Company’s Teen Troupe also ensured that all New Haven students had an opportunity to participate, even if their school is not part of this year’s program.
